The role is responsible for completion engineering, design and technical integrity aspects of the wells in the Fogelberg project, and to ensure safe and efficient execution of upcoming completion activities.

Degree in an engineering/technology/science discipline
  • Experience of running complex subsea completions including HPHT field developments, Christmas trees, subsea work-over systems, completion landing string etc.
  • Commercial awareness/Understands project financing/cost control principles
  • Considerable experience in completion and well operations from semi-submersible operations

Responsibilities and work tasks
  • Undertake completion engineering and design projects, setting clear priorities and goals. Prepare completion project documents, programmes and provide input to drilling and intervention programmes in a timely manner. Ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently, in full compliance with corporate policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements
  • The role will be responsible to optimise the well concept selected in DG2, manage third party engineering studies, prepare basis of well design and PDO supporting document.
  • Manage interfaces between well completions and SPS equipment, including subsea work-over system.
  • Inter-face effectively with other teams e.g. subsurface, HSEQ, projects, commercial, finance to safely and successfully deliver the well
  • Demonstrate a challenging and innovative approach to well design and construction to ensure cost effective, safe and environmentally acceptable well engineering solutions
  • Apply appropriate techniques and processes to drive performance through benchmarking and data analysis
  • Ensure appropriate peer reviews and/or Risk Assessments are held for each well with assigned actions closed out accordingly
  • Responsible for the capture and close out of lessons learned and analysis of non-productive time (NPT) events in relevant offset wells
  • Contribute to the authority for budget preparation and submission process, manage well costs and prepare forecasts, check and approve invoices, etc. for particular projects. Ensure project expenditures are effectively managed, controlled and monitored
  • Prepare and evaluate tenders for completion operations. Act as Technical Sponsor for certain completion contracts. Support the contractor management process by developing highly positive relationships with contractors and suppliers and ensuring delivery against KPIs/scorecards
  • Provide technical support and give work direction to less experienced engineers and openly share knowledge
  • Participate in relevant industry forums (HTHP, etc)
  • Make visits offshore for technical meetings/inspections if required
  • Provide support to the Project Manager / Drilling Superintendent  and provide cover during periods of absence
  • Take ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge
  • Be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of HSE policies and procedures as well as industry standards and requirements in relation to drilling/well operations
  • Contribute to a high HSE standard in the workplace by actively taking part in any HSE related improvement work  
  • Provide support to the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in the event of an incident with well implications
  • Notify employer if noticing conditions that could harm life or health and that could not be corrected by themselves
  • Ensure that contractors and suppliers comply with Clients HSEQ requirements
