Acona will under the new contract support Lundin within the area of planning and execution of drilling projects. A drilling team from Acona will work integrated with Lundin’s operation unit, and this integrated team will have the responsibility for managing Lundins drilling operations.
The new agreement marks the extension of a well established cooperation between the two companies. Acona has under previous agreements been responsible for a large number of drilling projects with Lundin as the operator.
’’We are very happy to be able to sign this agreement with Lundin. This represents a substantial step forward to strengthen our company’s position as a leading provider of drilling management services. We are proud that Lundin has chosen Acona to take on responsibilities that oil companies normally cover with its own personnel resources. The contract is an important milestone to Acona as a provider of competence to the oil industry’’, says Chief Executive Officer Oddbjørn Kopperstad.
’’Our team looks forward to continue the challenging and exciting work for one of the most successful companies on the NCS (Norwegian Continental Shelf)", says project manager for the Acona Drilling Team, Jan Strand.
In addition to drilling services the new contract includes taking on the responsibility for Lundins second line emergency response organization. This part of the agreement will be handled by ICC, Acona’s Incident Coordination Centre in Stavanger.
