Wells HSEQ Advisor

Description:

On behalf of a client we are seeking a Wells HSEQ Advisor, to support the development and promotion of HSE&Q policies, standards and controls that facilitate the delivery of excellence in HSE and Quality performance; and compliance to legislation, corporate policy and industry best practice.
Duration 18 months

Education:

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering or appropriate scientific discipline and/or be a fully qualified member of a professional engineering or HSE body

Experience:

  • Familiar with current HSE legislation and social policy relating to the oil and gas industry and petroleum activity on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (PSA, NORSOK etc.)
  • Familiar with content requirements in Applications for Consent
  • Experience of HSE management within well operations in an operator company
  • Familiar with critical processes and tasks related to drilling and semi-submersible drilling rig.Rig Intake and assurance processes.

Personal qualities:

  • Enthusiastic interest in HSE management and techniques
  • Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive relationship with contractor personnel

Responsibilities and work tasks:

  • Promote a positive and strong HSE culture within the Well Operation Team and ensure that the overall philosophy for HSE is established, and adhered to by all departments
  • Participate in the establishment of the HSE&Q program, assurance process and activity plans
  • Support business assurance process, incl. audit program
  • Support the Well Operations Team in issues and questions regarding HSE compliance
  • Liaison with external bodies regarding HSE related issues
  • Facilitate HSE risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risk
  • Evaluate and follow up performance indicators
  • Coordinate and support in the establishment of applications for consent- and discharge application
  • Ensure that a qualified emergency response team and plans are in place
  • Develop and follow up the Contractor Management plans 
  • Deliver HSEQ support to Well Operations Team for planning and operations phase
  • Develop and implement HSEQ procedures, work on continual improvements and initiate required HSEQ related work
  • Support business assurance process, incl. audit program for the relevant work
  • Evaluate and follow up performance indicators
  • Support the Well Operation Team on a day to day basis to comply with company and legislative requirements within HSEQ
  • Participate in offshore rig visits and external audits when required
  • Comply with HSE requirements and contribute to a high HSE standard in the workplace by actively taking part in any HSE related improvement work.
    Intervene positively if observing an “at risk” situation.
